Cup tie crowds (daytrippers freebies? & annoying twats)
I ve been to two this season and found it bloody annoying pn both occasions.
Balloons being burst, plastic cutlery & paper airplanes being thrown, cheering for leeds / Man city, jumping over /sitting in the wrong seats, people seemingly unable to keep still for a single second.
Teenagers & adults without no interest in the game whatsoever.
Are the club giving some of these tickets away?

The parents are always the blame

I don't mind. West ham changed when we went all seater.

I go with my son and he loves it.

Progress I suppose.

I only get irked when you get some coked twat shouting out Irons in your lug hole every 10 seconds.

Haha! You caught me being grumpy.

To be fair the Krays thing is nothing new. I used to hitch a lot in the early 70s and never got a lift from a lorry driver who didn't drive for the Krays.

I do think it’s time to stop the kids with the cardboard signs asking for shirts. If the players want to chuck it into the crowd, or hand it to a kid, fine, but there were three by me asking for Rice’s shirt, before the game had even kicked off. I blame the parents.

It was a joke mate.

One or two are under sixty and didn't work in the docks. They pretty much all drove Reggie's car, though...

I was at yesterdays game and thought the same that there were lots of partimers - Fine by me but the incessant shouting of 'Irons' does become a little grating especially when trying to get home
I know i'm getting old and grumpy

Old geezers are getting a bit of a kicking today. I am not miserable and never claim to be anything other than what I am. There are thousands in the stadium like me and are generally the least annoying and best blokes to start a conversation with. Don’t get me started on coked up, once a season 20 year olds who think that randomly shouting irons makes them proper West Ham.

our first league cup match against chelsea is still my favourite atmosphere we ever had at the bowl. even on its best days now (like the scouse and chelsea wins) it feels very safe and contained. there was a bit of spice that night.

It’s not all bad - I was able to fly over from Dublin and take my son to his first match in three years. With the flights and car hire, the kids for a quid deal eases the burden for international fans flying over

One of the kids that run on at the end had an Arsenal coat on I think. Do Newham still give out free tickets?

To be fair 55,000 enthusiastic fans who can't normally afford to go and possible young converts is better than 57,000 miserable old cunts who all pretend to be ex-dockers or the Kray brothers' former driver.

,

I agree with that. Affordable family football in the cups is a great way to blood the next generation and attract more support to our club.

I got season tickets with my boy, Dad, Father in law but weren’t going to go, changed mind mid last week and decided to go and also take my nephew who’s Dad is Spurs to his second game and he is now a proper Hammer my nephew - had to sit elsewhere in the ground as our ST’s were taken - but although mainly day trippers it was still a good atmosphere where I was and I don’t mind seeing a few different faces, especially when they leave smiling and the kids singing etc.

It’s also 2pm on a Sunday - no C2C running and people isolating over covid - so 55k in the ground is a good effort.

Agreed. It was like a family fun day where I was but what do you expect with loads of st holders giving it a miss and tickets at £10 with kids for a quid.

We only really still get up for certain games, that’s the reality. I should imagine the league game will be better.

Re: Cup tie crowds (daytrippers freebies? & annoying twats)
These “fans” that turn up at games like yesterday’s and some find annoying are only there because the so called hard core didn’t want to attend. Let’s cut them some slack because not everyone can afford a season ticket and so some there might become fans for life and that game will be remembered as the time they joined the WHU family.

There were unfamiliar faces near me but good luck to them it’s good to know that there are more than the sixty thousand regulars that will turn up and support us. Oh and the thousands of Leeds fans helped provide an atmosphere though there will be fewer of them next week.

Did you tell the old geezers behind you? Thought not.
